BATON ROUGE
GENERAL

The Baton Rouge General Medical Center (BRGMC) dates back to 1908 when it first opened its doors as "The Sanitarium." Over the next several decades, BRGMC expanded to include two campuses, Mid-City and Bluebonnet.

BRGMC also serves as the region's only verified burn center and provides real "community" emergency medicine experience. Residents will rotate through both the ED and adult ICU at the Bluebonnet location during their training. This community ED sees >40,000 adult and pediatric visits per year.
