Why LSU Baton Rouge? I’ve spent most of my life in the I10 corridor between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. There’s no place like it. The people, the FOOD, LSU sports (Geaux Tigahs), festivals, sportsman’s paradise, drive through daiquiris. There’s something for everyone and plenty to discover.

What do you do on your days off? Hunting or fishing whenever I can get out of town. Video games when I can’t.

Pets/Family? My girlfriend and our 2 cats.

Random/Fun Fact: Been in school with the guy to my right since 8th grade.

Why LSU Baton Rouge? I was blown away by the program on all aspects when I rotated as a 4th year student. Each resident I met was impressive. The faculty were down to earth and prioritized student/resident learning. The whole ED staff seemed excited to teach and allow us to be involved in all aspects of patient care. Also the proximity to Tiger Stadium is a major draw. Geaux Tigahs

What do you do on your days off? Sleep until 11, facetime my fiancée, train Jiu Jitsu, and Taco Bell $2 menu.

What would you be doing if you weren't doing Emergency Medicine? Cutting hair and cracking jokes at a Barbershop.

Pets/Family? My fiancée, Addie and pictured above is me and one of my lovely nephews. No pets, but I travel over to Tanner's if I need my fill of animals.

Random/Fun Fact: I ran an underground barbershop for all my friends in medical school. I've been in school with the guy to my left since 8th grade.

Why LSU Baton Rouge? I rotated here as a medical student and got to see first hand how well this program prepares you to be a great ER doctor. Even as a student I was able to be involved in so many procedures and acute patient cases. Not only that but the faculty are so approachable and supportive, I knew this was where I wanted to train. Plus nowhere has better food than Louisiana!

What do you do on your days off? Workout, read, find new cookie recipes to bake, try to get outside and explore Baton Rouge and the surrounding area (when the heat/humidity allows it)

Why LSU Baton Rouge? I loved my interview day and the program really checked all the boxes that I wanted. High patient acuity, a trauma centre, high patient volume, and tons of opportunities for procedures. Speaking to the residents during the interview trail was enlightening to how confident they were in their training and how well rounded their experience has been. That really sold me on the program. Also, to be honest, I just had a good gut feeling about this place!

What do you do on your days off? Soccer, hanging by the pool, and exploring Baton Rouge.
